Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Jake Willison #14500 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Performance with Late Challenges Jake Willison's results in the 2025 Mesa Marathon demonstrated a steady running pace, especially in the first half of the race. He maintained a consistent pace around the 6:10 min/mile mark through the initial stages. Notably, his fastest mile was completed in 5:50 at mile 17. For a good portion of the race, Jake maintained his division placement within the top 10 of M19-24, showing competitive stamina and resilience early on. Despite a strong start, Jake encountered some challenges towards the end, with his final split time slowing to 7:18 min/mile. This shift highlights an opportunity to focus on endurance over the later miles. Improving stamina in this area could better sustain the pace throughout the entire marathon, helping maintain or even improve his overall standing for future races. As a member of the "PR or ER!" team, there’s great potential for him to enhance his performance.
