Consistent Pacing with a Strong Middle Section Eric Erspamer, representing Denver Metro Racing, delivered a solid performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. With an overall elapsed time of 1:29:55, Eric maintained an average pace of 6:51 min/mile across the 13.1 miles, securing 183rd place among male competitors and 25th in his age division (M35-39). Eric's run was marked by a particularly strong third mile, clocking 6:01—his fastest mile split of the race. While the initial mile started at a steady 6:43 min/mile, Eric displayed effective pacemaking by improving his pace in the first half, with five out of his first six miles under a 6:30 pace. A slight decrease in pace was noted after mile 6, with the final stretch showing declining splits. Future strategy could focus on maintaining the brisk pacing of the middle miles through to the race's conclusion to boost his overall standings.
