Consistent Pace with Positive Split Refinement Alexis Schmitt completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon with a finish time of 4:55:21 and an average pace of 11:16 min/mile. Her performance showed moments of consistent pacing, especially in the early stages, with miles 1 to 4 remaining close to the 9:50 min/mile pace. Notably, she maintained a steady effort in the first half, with half of her mile splits just over 10 minutes. The 7th mile stood out with the fastest split of 9:17, indicating the potential for shifts in speed. In the later miles, such as the 21st and 26th, reduced pace affected the average, reaching over 13-minute miles. Continued focus on high-paced miles demonstrates potential for future events. Comparing her marathon pace to previous half marathons, Alexis showed improvement in her endurance capacity, maintaining a pace closer to that of her past half marathon times. Encouragement to work on maintaining speed in the final miles could yield even stronger results.
