Consistent Splits with Strong Finish Over Half Marathon Allen Cope showed consistent performance in the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon, finishing the 13.1-mile course in 1:59:19 with an overall pace of 9:06 min/mile. His split times reveal a steady start with a 9:04 min/mile pace for the first mile. Notably, he maintained an approximately 8:50 min/mile pace through mile 5, subtly increasing his pace by mile 3 with an 8:13 min/mile effort, his strongest split. Cope achieved his strongest kick on the final mile at 8:29 min/mile, demonstrating a solid finish. Placed 79th in his M40-44 age division, he faced a little more competition than in the previous year. Compared to the 2024 Mesa Marathon, where he clocked 1:58:47 with a 9:04 min/mile pace, there's minimal deviation in his performance. As Cope progresses, focusing on maintaining early-mile momentum may further enhance his race outcomes. His participation as part of the Cope Running Club adds to his well-rounded race experience.
