Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Aubrey Flaherty #16236 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Pace and Strong Finish Aubrey Flaherty participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, representing the Cope Running Club. Over the 13.1-mile event, Aubrey maintained a steady and impressive pace. Starting with a 9:24 min/mile pace for the first mile, she progressively accelerated through the race, reaching her fastest pace of 7:19 min/mile in the final mile. Her overall pace averaged 8:04 min/mile, resulting in a total time of 1:45:44. Throughout the race, Aubrey demonstrated strong pacing improvements, climbing from 1002nd to 723rd place overall by the end. In the F30-34 division, she secured 59th place out of the participants. Notably, her pace improved significantly after the sixth mile, consistently recording sub-8-minute splits in the later stages. Working on the initial pace to match her strong finish might help elevate her performance across future races. Impressive effort and execution throughout the race.
