Consistent Effort with Minor Pace Fluctuations Maria Avila showcased a steady performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon, maintaining an average pace of 9:21 min/mile over a 26.2-mile course. Starting strong, Maria initially maintained a consistent pace of 8:22 min/mile for the first two miles and improved slightly to 8:19 min/mile by mile three. She continued to show a strong pace, hitting her fastest mile at an 8:03 min/mile pace by mile four. Notably, she remained within the top 30% of her gender category, maintaining a commendable standing throughout the race. From mile five onward, Maria's pace gradually slowed, reaching 11:01 min/mile at mile 21, before stabilizing around 9:21 min/mile by the end. Her performance ranks her impressively within the top 40% across all participants.
