Consistent Progress in the Mesa Marathon In the 2025 Mesa Marathon, Alex Duke showed significant improvement from his previous races, completing the half marathon with an elapsed time of 1:21:47. His overall pace was 6:14 min/mile, a notable advancement from the 6:24 min/mile pace achieved in the 2023 Mesa Marathon. The most impressive mile was mile 10, completed in 3:30 with a pace of 3:30 min/mile, demonstrating a strong finishing surge. A key area to focus on is maintaining the momentum seen in earlier miles, particularly after mile 8, where the pace increased to 9:52 min/mile. By analyzing the drop in pace between miles 8 and 9, Alex can strategize to maintain his speed throughout. Nonetheless, his performance this year has shown remarkable consistency and improvement, particularly in maintaining placement in the top positions of his division, M35-39, finishing 13th.
