Consistent Pace with a Strong Finish Sophie McCullough, representing the AZ Fam team, demonstrated a consistent performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. Over the 26.2-mile course, Sophie maintained an average pace of 10:11 minutes per mile, finishing with a total time of 4:27:12. Splits revealed consistency, with varied minor fluctuations, including a notable final mile at a pace of 9:21 per mile, which highlights a strong finish strategy. Such even pacing through the marathon is commendable and can be built upon for future races. Throughout the event, Sophie placed 704th in her gender and 113th in the F25-29 age division out of 3624 participants. Her resilience was reflected in the way she steadily improved her position after each segment, especially closing strong during the last few miles.
