Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Maria Kirby showcased a commendable performance in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, displaying consistent pacing and strategic racing. Her overall elapsed time was 1:36:38 for the 13.1-mile course, yielding a solid average pace of 7:22 min/mile. Notably, Maria executed a strong finish, clocking her fastest pace of 6:37 min/mile in the final mile. Her pacing strategy led to an improvement in overall spots, finishing 437th out of 3,859 competitors and maintaining competitiveness within her division, placing 37th in the F25-29 category. Throughout the race, Maria’s ability to maintain a consistent pace was evident. She managed to maintain a near-identical pace until her last few miles, where she increased her speed significantly. Improvement was particularly noticeable from mile 9 onwards, where her consistent sub-7:10 paces contributed to her strong finish.
