Consistent Start, Tough Finish Kyle Gallagher exhibited a commendable performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. He maintained a strong pace, averaging between 5:56 and 5:59 min/mile for the first 10 miles. Notably, his split pace of 5:42 min/mile at mile 7 and mile 9 highlights his capacity for speed. He showcased considerable pacing consistency early on which sustained his position around 34th to 36th overall from mile 4 to mile 11. In the latter stages, fatigue seemed to affect the pacing, as his mile splits increased. From mile 16, his split pace dropped above 7:00 min/mile, peaking at 8:21 min/mile at mile 18. The fluctuation resulted in a decrease in placement from 35th at mile 11 to 116th overall by the finish. A focus on maintaining endurance in the later miles could help in future races. Despite the challenges, Kyle completed the marathon in 2:53:28, achieving a place of 111th in his gender category.
