Consistent Performance with Noteworthy Splits Sara Lopez, 25, from Port Orchard, WA, demonstrated consistent pace in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, completing the 13.1-mile course with an overall time of 1:14:59 and an average pace of 5:43 min/mile. Notably, her strongest mile was the 13th, completed in 5:13, placing her 68th overall among 3859 participants, 11th among women, and 5th in the F25-29 division. Highlights include maintaining sub-6 min/mile paces throughout, with impressive pacing in miles 3 and 6 both achieved in 5:18. Sara has demonstrated improvement in maintaining her pace throughout the race compared to her 2022 performance. Her final mile this time was significantly faster, with a split of 5:30 in mile 12. While her overall time was slightly slower than her previous best (1:14:51), her ability to sustain and even accelerate towards the end is commendable. Focusing on refining early race pacing could help close that gap even further.
