Consistent Pacing with a Strong Start Diane Santa Maria demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon, completing the half marathon in 2:37:55 with an overall pace of 12:03 min/mile. Her performance was commendable, particularly in the initial half of the race. Notably, Diane started strong with a quick 11:20 min/mile in the first mile, followed by maintaining a steady pace under 12:00 min/mile for the initial six miles. Highlights included her fastest split at mile 3, clocking in at 10:57 min/mile, showing her potential for sustained speed and control. In the latter half, Diane experienced a slight slowdown, particularly noticeable between miles 7 and 11, where her pace hovered around 12:20 to 13:01 min/mile. Despite this, she effectively picked up the pace in the final mile, reducing her pace to 11:52 min/mile. Diane was 141st in her division (F45-49) and placed 1399 in her gender category out of 3859 total participants. Working on sustaining her pace in the second half could further her overall performance.
