Consistent Improvement in Pace and Performance James recorded an impressive performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half, finishing the 13.1-mile course in 1:44:36 with an average pace of 7:59 min/mile. Notably, he demonstrated a significant improvement from his previous half marathon in 2023, shaving off nearly six minutes. His performance ranked him 31st in his division out of 3859 participants. James started strong with a 7:58 min/mile pace by the second mile and managed to maintain an average pace just under 8 minutes across the entire race. His fastest split was the final mile at a remarkable 7:10 min/mile. This suggests a strong finish and strategic pace management. Although his overall place was 686, optimizing middle miles could lead to better placements in future races. Consistency across middle segments would enhance overall endurance and potentially lead to a personal best in upcoming events.
