Consistent Improvement Across Splits Amy, a 20-year-old participant from Tucson, AZ, showed promising endurance and pacing progression at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. In the half marathon event, she completed the course in an impressive time of 1:58:41, yielding an overall pace of 9:03 min/mile. She started the race with a 12:14 min/mile pace for her first mile, and significantly increased her speed in subsequent splits, hitting her fastest pace at mile 13 with an 8:01 min/mile. Throughout the course, Amy consistently advanced in her placement, moving from 2198th place to 1288th by the end. She also improved her gender ranking from 1098 to 542 and climbed in her division to finish 42nd out of the F19-24 category. Notably, Amy maintained a positive momentum throughout her race, especially in the latter miles. Focusing on sustaining early speed could further enhance her performance in future races.
