Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Charles Milone #17541 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Splits and Strong Finish Charles Milone maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with a steady pace of 9:48 min/mile in the first mile, Charles showcased early control. Notably, his 3rd mile split was the fastest at 8:33 min/mile, indicating a boost in momentum. The race saw fluctuations, with a notable slowdown at mile 9, clocking in at 12:12 min/mile. However, Charles exhibited resilience by picking up the pace to 9:46 min/mile during the 11th mile. Overall, his completion time of 2:15:05, with an average pace of 10:18 min/mile, placed him in the top third of his age group division and among his gender. It’s clear that while Charles faced some slower segments, he demonstrated capability in pacing and recovery mid-race. Focusing on maintaining pacing consistency in the latter part of future races could be beneficial. As part of the 50 States Half Marathon Club, Charles represents Bethpage, NY, proudly.
