Consistent Progress Paired with Strategic Splits James Vogt, 68, from Gilbert, AZ, delivered a consistent performance in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, completing the race in 2:18:50 with an average pace of 10:35 min/mile. Notably consistent across the splits, James hit peak speed in his 13th mile with a split pace of 9:52 min/mile. His overall placement was 2185th out of 3859 participants, while he secured the 20th position in his division (M65-69). This year's performance marked a slight improvement from his 2022 and 2023 finishes in both time and division placement, showing a solid, steady trend. However, it did not reach his 2024 Mesa Marathon time of 2:12:11. Maintaining similar improvement strategies could aid in regaining that pace. Also, working specifically on sections where the pace temporarily increased, such as miles 3 and 13, could potentially enhance his overall time and division standing.
