Improved Pacing and Strong Finish Briana Brown skillfully navigated the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K course, demonstrating a steady start with a first-mile pace of 13:18 min/mile. Notably, her pace improved towards the race's end, with an impressive kick at the sixth mile, clocking an 11:28 min/mile pace. This late-stage acceleration reduced her overall time to 1:22:52 with an average pace of 13:21 min/mile across the 6.2-mile course. Ranking 704th among female participants in a competitive field of 2,107 showcases her resilience and ability to maintain a strong pace throughout the event. Within the F35-39 division, she placed 110th, and an area to explore could be sustained pace consistency in the middle splits, which saw a slight deceleration. Being part of Black Girls RUN!, she effectively demonstrated team spirit and personal perseverance. Working on a more consistent pace can make future performances even stronger.
