Steady Gains with a Speedy Finish Sandy Morales finished the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K, representing Type Run Diabetes with a total time of 2:05:04. Her steady pace throughout the race was highlighted by a consistent improvement. Notably, her pace noticeably quickened during the last mile to 18:50 min/mile—the fastest split of her race. She achieved an overall pace of 20:10 min/mile. From start to finish, Sandy maintained focus, moving from 20:17 min/mile at the first mile to achieving a faster split at 5 miles with a 19:55 min/mile pace. In terms of division placement, she was 157th in the F35-39 category. Her highest climb in placement occurred in the latter parts of the race, which suggests a strong strategy in maintaining energy and accelerating towards the finish. Continuously focusing on negative splits could enhance future racing outcomes.
