Strategic Finish with a Strong Pace Increase Christy Knuteson maintained a consistent start to her race, navigating each mile steadily. Her pace varied slightly, starting with a 15:20 min/mile and increasing slightly between the second and fourth miles. Notably, her fifth mile showed improvement with a pace of 15:26 min/mile, which highlighted her ability to regain momentum mid-race. The final mile was particularly impressive, as Christy significantly boosted her pace to 13:42 min/mile, marking her fastest split. Her overall elapsed time was 1:35:19 for the 10K at the 2025 Mesa Marathon, with an average pace of 15:22 min/mile. She achieved a respectable position within her division, landing 103rd in the F40-44 category out of 2107 participants. Consistent training on improving early race pacing could positively impact her overall performance in future events.
