Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Yuyuan Su #18640 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Start with Increased Endurance Needs Yuyuan Su participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon under the Copperleaf Happy Run team, completing a challenging half marathon. His initial pace was commendable, beginning with an 8:58 min/mile for the first mile, followed by an improvement to an 8:06 min/mile by the second mile. His pacing strategy was solid at the start, helping him maintain a consistent pace through the first few miles. As the race progressed, Yuyuan showed signs of fatigue. His pace declined from 9:23 min/mile in mile 4 to 14:08 min/mile in mile 13. The overall pace of 10:28 min/mile placed him 146th in his division out of 3859 participants. To enhance future performance, working on maintaining pace in the latter part of the race could be beneficial. Utilizing interval training and longer endurance runs may aid in bolstering stamina and sustaining pace through to the finish line.
