Consistent Start, But Slower Finish Cameron Grigsby of Lithia Springs, GA had a solid start at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. His splits during the first half of the race showed consistent pacing. Notably, his fastest split was during the seventh mile at a 9:13-minute pace, suggesting a strong effort while maintaining a manageable rhythm. He moved down the ranks from 1736th overall after the first mile to 2476th by mile 7. The second half, however, showed a gradual slowdown in pace, with mile 21 clocking in at 18:11 minutes. This shift indicates an area to focus on for future events to maintain endurance and speed over the entire course. Finishing with an elapsed time of 5:34:25, Cameron completed the 26.2-mile marathon with an overall pace of 12:45 min/mile. As a member of the Atlanta Run Club, Cameron has the opportunity to strengthen his endurance for future races. Consistent training in longer distance and pace work could help maintain early momentum throughout.
