Consistent Splits Shine Despite Overall Slowdown Eric Thran, competing in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, recorded a total time of 2:51:13, averaging a pace of 13:04 min/mile over the 13.1 miles. His most consistent splits were early in the race, with his pace significantly improving around mile 6 with a 12:17 min/mile split. Notably, most splits remained around the 12:50-12:55 min/mile range, with only slight deviations, indicating strong pacing strategy and endurance throughout the race. Eric’s position shifted throughout the race, starting at 1754 overall and concluding at 2981, with similar variances in age division placements in the M55-59 category. Comparing to last year's performance at the 2024 Mesa Marathon, there is an opportunity to explore strategies for maintaining speed.
