Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Kate Seifert #18359 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Steady Improvement and Strong Finish Kate Seifert from Menasha, WI, kept a consistent pace throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, with her final elapsed time clocking in at 2:10:56 and an average pace of 9:59 min/mile. Notably, while her initial mile started at a 10:18 min/mile pace, she managed to improve her speed significantly, achieving a strong ending split with a pace of 9:03 min/mile. Her performance placed her 89th in the female 45-49 division. Kate maintained a fairly even pace over the course distance of 13.1 miles, with an interesting blend of pacing tactics. Mile 6 and 7 splits presented minor challenges with slightly slower paces of 10:30 and 10:36 min/mile, respectively. However, her ability to quicken to a 9:03 min/mile in her final mile demonstrates remarkable closing strength. Continuing to build on this finishing speed could further enhance her race performance in future events. Excellent determination overall!
