Consistent Pace Delivers Improved Finish Benjamin Russell's performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon reflected substantial improvement over his previous race. He clocked in at 1:59:29 with a consistent average pace of 9:07 min/mile. Notably, his pace improved from the previous year’s 10:28 min/mile. Throughout the race, Benjamin maintained a commendable rhythm, beginning with a 9:23 min/mile pace and finishing strong with an 8:39 min/mile pace for the final mile. His steady pacing strategy paid off, as he managed to stay within a narrow time range for each mile. Benefiting from his strategic pacing, Benjamin crossed the line placing 131st in the M25-29 division, moving upward compared to last year’s results. His performance was strong, particularly highlighted by an 8:34 min/mile split at mile 3 and an 8:56 min/mile at mile 11, showcasing his ability to increase speed when needed. Working on holding pace during middle sections could further strengthen his future results.
