Consistent Pacing and Steady Finish Sara Vandehey showcased notable consistency in her marathon performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. With an overall elapsed time of 5:00:55, she maintained a steady average pace of 11:29 min/mile throughout the 26.2-mile course. Sara started strong, holding a consistent pace near 10:30 min/mile in the first half and, while there was a gradual slowing in later stages, the pacing remained commendable. Notably, her strongest split occurred between miles 1 to 4, averaging around 10:30 min/mile, indicating a solid start. Sara finished within the top third of her age division F45-49, placing 94th out of 3624 total participants. Her positioning improved in later stages with a clear advantage at mile 19 where she surged: recording a 10:42 min/mile, one of her fastest paces. For upcoming races, focusing on endurance during later miles could enhance overall performance.
