Consistent Start with a Strong Finish Sheldon Pohl showcased determination and steadiness throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon. Starting at a solid pace of 7:57 min/mile for the first mile, Pohl maintained consistent pacing between 7:47 and 8:40 min/mile up to the 5th mile. Notably, his best split at 7:47 min/mile occurred between the 2nd and 3rd mile, demonstrating his capability to increase speed early in the race. Towards the latter part of the marathon, Pohl's pace averaged around 8:31 to 10:35 min/mile, indicating a gradual slowing. Despite this, his ability to complete the marathon with an average pace of 8:49 min/mile is commendable for his age category. Placing 21st in the M60-64 division out of a total of 3624 participants emphasizes his competitive spirit and dedication.
