Steady Progression with a Strong Finish Guido Zarrella showed consistent pacing across the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon course, maintaining an average pace of 7:16 min/mile for a total time of 1:35:23. His efforts placed him 30th out of his age group, M45-49, balancing well against a field of 3,859 runners. His performance was marked by steady pacing, notably tightening his splits in the latter stages of the race. A notable point in Guido’s race was at mile 3, where he hit his fastest split with a time of 6:53 min/mile, displaying strong potential for speed. This was accentuated by a robust finish with a final mile split of 6:35 min/mile. To further enhance his performance, focusing on maintaining the early momentum longer would be advantageous, especially during the mid-race miles. Joining the Mercuria Running team seems to benefit his technique and pacing strategy.
