Strong Pace Shifts Lead to a Consistent Performance Will's performance in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon showcased solid pacing adjustments throughout the race. The initial mile was clocked at 9:27 min/mile, but Will picked up speed with the second mile at 8:28 min/mile. A notable highlight was the burst in the sixth mile, achieving a split pace of 7:50 min/mile, showcasing a commendable surge in speed. The ability to drop the pace in later stages, particularly the twelfth mile at 7:42 min/mile, demonstrated strong finishing capability. Maintaining an overall average pace of 8:32 min/mile, Will completed the 13.1-mile course in 1:51:54. Consistency in pacing helped him secure a respectable placement in his age division and overall gender categories. While Will's pacing remained mostly steady, focusing on minor fluctuations, particularly in miles with slower splits, could bring about even greater efficiencies in future races.
