Consistent Pacing Leads to Strong Finish Irene Ruberto showcased impressive consistency at the 2025 Mesa Marathon's Half Marathon event. She completed the 13.1 miles with a time of 1:31:37, achieving an average pace of 6:59 per mile. Positioned 319th overall out of 3,859 participants, her performance highlights included maintaining a steady and efficient pace despite various splits throughout the race. Notably, she improved her division rank to 12th in the F40-44 category. Her fastest split occurred between miles 8 and 9 where she ran at a pace of 7:03. A solid performance throughout, Irene showed significant improvement in speed compared to previous marathon races, dropping nearly a minute and a half per mile compared to her 2023 marathon time. A particularly strong kick at the final mile, clocking in at 6:25, demonstrates her endurance and capacity to finish strong. As she continues to focus on accelerating her pace during the mid-race miles, further enhancements in overall performance seem promising.
