Consistent Performance with Late Surge Fernando Cortes, 27, from Gilbert, AZ showed a commendable performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K. Over the span of the 6.2-mile course, his strategy focused on steady pacing. He began with a 10:43 minute mile, maintaining consistency through to the fifth mile, with his splits hovering near this pace. Most notably, his final mile saw a remarkable improvement, a swift 9:33 mile demonstrating resilience and potential finishing power. Overall, Fernando completed the race in 1:06:21, achieving an average pace of 10:42 per mile. While the pacing was consistent throughout most of the race, sustaining the momentum from his last split could be beneficial for future events.
