Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Clint Bottorff #10555 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Start and Challenging Finish Clint Bottorff, 38 from Parker, CO, delivered a determined performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. Starting strong, his splits from miles 1 to 10 showed consistent paces between 6:45 and 7:10 min/mile, with a peak consistency during the middle third of the race. Notable highlights include a swift mile 7 clocked at 6:42 min/mile, reflecting well on his pacing ability. In the latter part of the race, fatigue appeared to influence Clint's performance. From mile 18 onwards, splits began to exceed 8 minutes per mile, ultimately averaging an 8:02 min/mile pace for the full 26.2 miles. Clint completed the marathon in 3:30:29, finishing in tough competition as part of the Mercuria Running team. With a previous marathon finishing time of 3:02:56 at the 2022 Mesa Marathon, targeting endurance in later stages might be a constructive focus for upcoming races.
