Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Laura Brown #15571 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Steady Improvement in Mesa Marathon Half Laura Brown demonstrated consistent performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon, completing the half marathon in 2:55:13. She maintained an average pace of 13:22 min/mile over the 13.1 miles. Laura's early miles showed a promising start, with her first three splits under 12 minutes per mile. Notably, Laura improved her split time significantly from the previous year’s pace of 13:39 min/mile at the same event in 2024. Throughout the race, Laura showed strong initial pacing before her pace slowed slightly from mile 4 onward. Despite this, she managed to finish stronger in the last mile with a split of 13:19. Accompanying her team, TWV Tucson, Laura placed 160th in her division. For future events, focusing on pacing during the middle miles could further enhance her performance. The progression from last year indicates positive strides in performance, which is encouraging for her future races.
