Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Tesfu Tewelde #22173 Race: 2025 Mesa 10K Distance: 6.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Remarkable Pace and Top Division Finish Tesfu Tewelde delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K event. Displaying exceptional pacing abilities, Tesfu maintained a steady pace throughout the race, finishing with an average pace of 4:32 min/mile. A particularly notable moment was Tesfu's final mile, completed in a swift 3:44 — the fastest pace of the entire race. His consistent pace culminated in a division win in the M25-29 category. Although Tesfu achieved a commendable 4th place overall among 2,107 participants, his ability to maintain speed and endurance was outstanding. Early splits varied slightly, but improvement was evident as he jumped to 1st place in a few key segments. Tesfu’s performance showed well-timed bursts of speed, suggesting a strong potential for strategic pacing in future races.
