Consistent Start, Fluctuating Finish Victoria Bowden from Stone Mountain, GA, demonstrated a commendable level of consistency during the 2025 Mesa Marathon. Her splits varied between 6:48 and 9:24 min/mile. She maintained a steady pace throughout the early stages, with her first mile clocked at 7:04 min/mile, ranking 16th in her division. Her average pace for the race was 7:43 min/mile. A highlight was the swift recovery after the 3-mile mark, where she achieved one of her fastest splits of 6:48 min/mile by mile 4. Victoria's position in the division fluctuated as the race progressed, with notable improvements and challenges. While she dropped to 29th in the Female 30-34 division by the end, she improved her overall placement significantly during miles 19 through 21, reaching as high as 10th in the division at mile 19. Joining the Atlanta Run Club seemed to provide her a solid support system, and focusing on maintaining a steady effort through the end could further enhance her performance in future events.
