Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Bob Learner #21430 Race: 2025 Mesa 10K Distance: 6.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Steady Performance with Improved Split Consistency Bob Learner completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K with an overall time of 1:43:00, averaging a pace of 16:36 min/mile. Analyzing his splits, Bob displayed a pattern of consistency, maintaining an average pace close to his overall pace throughout the race. His best mile was the fourth, completing it in 15:59, which improved his overall pace. Bob finished in the 16th position within his M70-74 age division, out of 2107 total participants. While Bob maintained a consistent rhythm throughout the 10K, there was a slight reduction in speed during the second and third miles, while the fourth and fifth miles showed improvement by returning to below the 16:00 min/mile pace. Moving forward, focusing on maintaining a quicker start or early acceleration might help sustain the momentum set in later miles, potentially improving overall performance.
