Consistent Pace with Progressive Improvement Char Learner, at 72, displayed a notable performance in the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K. Her average pace was 16:36 min/mile, covering the race in a total time of 1:43:00. Impressively, her pace remained within a narrow range from 16:09 to 16:56 min/mile across all splits. Notably, her fastest split was the fourth one, with a time of 16:09, indicating a strong finish. Within her division of F70-74, she placed 14th, demonstrating consistency and determination. In comparison to her earlier half marathon in 2013, where her pace was 15:59 min/mile, there is a minor slowdown. However, her ability to maintain a steady pace throughout suggests endurance and resilience. Working on increasing her pace in the initial miles could enhance overall performance. As part of the 50 States Half Marathon Club, continued participation and training could further optimize her race experiences.
