Consistent Early Pacing, Challenging Finish Adam Wolfson, 51, from Blackwood, NJ, showcased a strong start in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. The initial 6 miles were notably consistent, maintaining an improved pace from 8:36 min/mile to 8:18 min/mile. This suggests a strategic start, with steady splits contributing to positions within the top 40 in his division up to that point. Notably, his fastest mile split was 8:02 during the third mile. From mile 7 onwards, there was a gradual decrease in pace, with mile splits stretching from 9:33 to 10:14 min/mile. This affected later positions, leading to a division finish of 59th. Completing the race with an elapsed time of 1:58:59 and a pace of 9:04 min/mile, Adam sustained a strong overall performance. Analyzing pacing strategies in the latter parts of races could offer improvements in sustaining energy over the distance. Nonetheless, completing the race shows commendable determination.
