Consistent Pacing in Half Marathon Execution Colette Callender, representing the 50 States Half Marathon Club, completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with an overall time of 3:19:36, averaging a pace of 15:14 min/mile. Throughout the race, she maintained a consistent effort, staying within a range of 14:05 to 15:14 min/mile for most of the splits, despite a notable slowdown between miles 9 and 10 where her pace reached its peak at 18:16 min/mile. Analyzing Colette's split times, she showed a strong start with her initial mile at 14:22, accelerating in the second mile to 12:59. While later miles showed a slight increase in times, her steady pacing is commendable. In the F60-64 division, she placed 73rd and was consistent in her ranking, with only slight movement throughout the race. For further improvement, working on maintaining the mid-race pace consistency observed in the early miles could be beneficial for future races.
