Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Karen Tognoli #14143 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Performance with Strategic Finish Karen from Union, OR, showcased a steady and calculated performance across the 2025 Mesa Marathon. She maintained a consistent pace throughout, finishing the 26.2-mile course in 3:58:28, yielding an average pace of 9:06 min/mile. Particularly noteworthy was her strong middle section, maintaining a solid pace with several splits at or below 8:45 min/mile. She finished 6th in her division (F60-64), out of a total of 26 participants, demonstrating competitive strength in her age group. Her performance suggests potential in pushing for even stronger middle splits. The early part of the race saw some quick splits, such as an 8:19 min/mile at mile 3, and more time could be gained by maintaining those paces longer. Continuing to focus on endurance during later stages could yield future improvements. Great representation for the "Boston Buddies" team, Karen exemplified determination and consistency. Keep training and refining those strategies!
