Progressive Gains in Pace and Position Nia Neal's performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K showed a noticeable improvement in pacing throughout the race. Starting with a pace of 12:34 min/mile in the first mile, she progressively increased her speed, achieving her fastest split pace of 10:14 min/mile by the sixth mile. Her overall pace for the race was a steady 11:36 min/mile, indicative of her ability to manage her speed across the event. Consistent progression in her placement was another highlight. Beginning at 924th overall, she improved her standing to 975th by the finish line out of 2107 competitors. In her division (F19-24), Nia moved from 51st to 49th. For future races, consider maintaining the same improvement trend but with a marginally stronger start to capitalize even further. Overall, her splits indicate a strong finish, demonstrating her capacity to maintain composure and speed towards the end.
