Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Chia Min Lin #15047 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent Start, Focus on Endurance Chia Min Lin participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, representing the Copperleaf Happy Run team. Starting strong at an 11:02 min/mile pace for the first mile, Chia Min showed potential, placing 89th in the M35-39 division and 713th among male participants. However, throughout the race, the pace gradually slowed, clocking in at 15:40 min/mile by the end. Consistency in the initial splits shows promise and indicates a solid foundation. The total time for the 13.1-mile race was 3:25:15. While finishing 3309th overall and 186th in the division, improvement in later miles could enhance competitiveness. Chia Min displayed resilience, with the pace descending as low as 19:59 min/mile between mile 11 and 12. Future training might benefit from endurance-focused workouts to maintain consistency and speed, especially as fatigue sets in during the latter part of the race. Keep building on that robust start!
