Consistent Effort with Early Pace Gains E. Marc Gilbert demonstrated a strong and consistent performance throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon's 10K event. Starting with a solid first mile at a pace of 9:37 min/mile, Gilbert maintained a commendable pace across the initial stages, placing 18th in his division (M45-49) at that point. Though his pace slightly decreased, with mile splits varying between 10:21 and 11:37 min/mile, he remained resilient, finishing with an average pace of 10:40 min/mile. Gilbert's result ranked him 52nd in his division out of 758 overall participants, and he placed 412th among male competitors. His initial speed and steady determination allowed for a respectable finish. It may be beneficial to focus on maintaining early pace in the latter stages to improve overall time distribution. Nonetheless, his ability to keep a consistent performance shows dedication and provides a solid base for future races.
