Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Brian Martin demonstrated a well-paced performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, completing the 13.1 miles in 2:12:55. His average pace was a consistent 10:08 min/mile. Notably, his finishing kick from mile 11 boosted his momentum, as seen in his final mile's split time of 9:51. This split was among his fastest in the race, highlighting a strong finish. His approach to the beginning of the race was strategic with each of the first three miles maintained steadily around a 10:12-10:17 min/mile pace. Compared to his previous half marathons, Brian showed significant improvement in pace and time. Since his 2024 Mesa Marathon performance, he trimmed 3:16 off his finish time and consistently improved his pace by 15 seconds per mile from last year. A focus on consistent miles early on, paired with a robust finish, contributes significantly to these achievements. Continued emphasis on pacing and endurance can further enhance performance.
