Consistent Start, Endurance Opportunities Brad Turney, representing Latinos Run Phoenix, demonstrated strong early pacing at the 2025 Mesa Marathon. His first seven miles showed impressive consistency, holding an average pace close to 6:50 min/mile. Notably, Mile 4 was his fastest, completing it in 6:43, which showcased his ability for speed on this segment. These early paces placed him within the top 300s overall and showed strong positioning in his age division (M35-39). As the race progressed, Brad's pace gradually slowed, which is common in marathon races. By Mile 18, his pace reduced to 8:48 min/mile. The 21st mile, with a pace of 11:46 min/mile, was the slowest segment, suggesting fatigue. Despite this, Brad completed the marathon with an overall time of 3:28:15, finishing 91st in his division out of 3624 participants. For future races, focusing on sustaining early pace through strategic pacing adjustments could be beneficial.
