Consistent Pacing and Strategic Finish Jane Gardner, a 15-year-old from Catalina, AZ, participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K race, representing TWV Tucson. Covering a total of 6.2 miles, Jane maintained a consistent pace, finishing with an overall elapsed time of 2:05:19 and an average pace of 20:12 min/mile. She completed the race ranking 1054th in her gender category and 30th in her F15-18 division. Significant improvement was seen in her pacing throughout the race. Starting with a first mile at an 18:41 min/mile pace, followed by a slightly slower second mile at 21:49 min/mile, Jane then progressively improved her splits. Her final mile was completed at a pace of 20:15 min/mile, demonstrating strategic effort in maintaining stamina and speed. Focusing on maintaining or slightly improving her initial pace in future races could be beneficial for her overall timing and placement. Great job on a strategic race execution, Jane!
