Steady Improvement in Marathon Performance Keawe Tolentino showcased consistent effort at the 2025 Mesa Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile race with an elapsed time of 4:55:58, which marks a significant improvement from last year's elapsed time of 5:19:13. His average pace of 11:17 min/mile also saw an improvement from the previous year’s 12:11 min/mile. A standout moment was at the 8-mile mark, with a strong split of 10:29, reflecting sustained pace management. While Tolentino's overall placing was 2545th out of 3624 participants, it's noteworthy that he consistently maintained his pace throughout the course. Analyzing his splits shows the potential for gains in the latter half of the marathon, as some mile times, like mile 22 at 16:25, were slower than others. Continuous focus on late-race pacing could enhance overall results. An impressive aspect was the nearly uniform performance across miles in the first half, which can be built upon in future races.
