Consistent Splits with Personal Improvement Chern Ping Lam showcased impressive consistency throughout his marathon journey with an overall time of 4:50:48, marking a substantial improvement from his previous performance. Notably, he shaved off over six minutes from last year's marathon time of 4:57:24. Lam's average pace stood at 11:05 min/mile, improving from 11:21 min/mile in 2024. Each split highlighted a commendable effort to maintain an even pace, with two standout splits at miles 7 and 12, where he recorded times under 10 minutes, at 9:55 min/mile. Placement data showed a slight fluctuation during the race; however, Lam maintained a comparatively steady position, finishing in 1603rd place in the male category and 191st in his age division. Encouragingly, split 19 demonstrated a strong push, moving him up significantly in placement in his age group. To further enhance his pacing strategy, he could aim to sustain faster splits over longer distances. Continued focus on maintaining speed will be beneficial in subsequent races.
