Paced Progression with a Strong Start Zachary Wright competed in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, delivering a performance marked by a strong start and consistent pacing. Starting with an 8:52-minute mile, Zachary improved his pace by the third mile to an impressive 7:47-minute mile, registering as his fastest split. By maintaining closely over 8:30-minute pace for much of the race, Zachary showcased strong pacing through the middle segments, especially between the second and sixth mile where he consistently averaged around the 8:30-minute mark. The final stretch saw a notable shift, with paces slowing to just over 9 minutes per mile and concluding the race with an elapsed time of 1:56:29. Noteworthy is the recovery in overall placement during the later stages, moving from 1011th at mile seven to 903rd by mile eight. To enhance performance further, focus on maintaining energy and pace in the last few miles could be beneficial for future races.
