Strong Start, Consistent Pace, Opportunity for Strategic Gains Nashua Luk completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon with an overall time of 1:50:26, maintaining an average pace of 8:25 minutes per mile over the 13.1-mile half marathon. Strong initial splits were evident with a notable 7:13-minute mile recorded at mile 3, leading to an impressive gain in pace from the first mile split of 8:20. Mid-race adjustments allowed for a consistent pace, although a slowdown observed at mile 8 with a 10:07 split time suggests a key area for refinement. Nashua's performance in the Male 25-29 division placed him 91st, with a total field ranking of 904 out of 3859 participants. The significant pace improvement in the final mile—a return to sub-8:00 pace with 7:56—demonstrates strong finishing potential. Working on maintaining a more consistent pace throughout could enhance future race strategies, particularly in the middle miles.
