Consistent Early Splits, Aiming for Faster Finish Kevin Nicholas showcased a consistent performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with strong consistency, Kevin hit a 11:03 min/mile pace in the first mile but showed an impressive improvement in the second and third miles with paces of 10:40 and 10:16 min/mile respectively. This early pace settled into a more consistent range around 11-12 min/mile for the latter miles, maintaining an average pace of 11:59 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course. Despite slight slowing from the fourth mile, Kevin showed remarkable consistency, with splits generally staying between 11:26 and 13:20 min/mile. Finishing with an overall time of 2:37:04, Kevin secured 145th in the Male 45-49 division and 1339th out of 3859 male participants. Future attempts could focus on maintaining the initial pace demonstrated in the early miles for a more sustained effort throughout the race. Congratulations on executing a well-paced run.
